The short way to reach the current Roma Cultural Center "BIRDS" – Kumanovo

 

•   In 1999, the then civic association "Drom" from Kumanovo offered a project to make a Roma play.

Then, a student of acting mastery and director, now master of the theater accepted the performance "Colonel Bird" by the author Hristo Bojcev.

The play had the first premiere in the Pioneer House, Kumanovo.

Hence the idea, from "Colonel Bird" to be called "BIRDS".

The unofficial group performed in Macedonia and outside of Macedonia where it received prestigious awards and recognitions, even thinking and using the nickname "LSET", meaning "Learning Student Experimental Theater".

The unconditional support from the beginning until the end was received by the long-time president of the KUD. “Rusit Shakir” - Kumanovo, by mr. Duro Jasharovski, who in 2001 teaches the company of young intuitions, which he thinks they will consistently inherit.

Since 2001, mostly, the group performs in France, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Serbia , outside of Macedonia.

In 2007, sign a contract for co-production with N.U. Center for Culture "Trajko Prokopiev" - Kumanovo.

Summer after the very successful premiere in 2007. with the title "Runaway" by Vasil Iljoski, which featured celebrities from famous movies, graduated Roma actors, a desire and initiative from the Roma organization from Skopje appeared, from which the play was financed by mr. Sejdo Jasarovski, to register Roma Center "BIRDS".

Roma Center "BIRDS" -Kumanovo until 2017. it carries the same name.

By the end of 2017, grows in the already existing Roma Cultural Center "BIRDS".
